Robotic Hair Transplant

Today, hair loss is an aesthetic problem that many individuals face. Hair loss can occur for various reasons, such as aging, genetic factors, hormonal changes, or environmental effects. Hair loss can affect self-confidence and negatively affect a person’s overall quality of life. For this reason, hair restoration methods are becoming increasingly popular. One of these, robotic hair transplantation, has emerged as an innovation that has attracted great interest in the field of medicine and aesthetic surgery in recent years.

What is Robotic Hair Transplantation?

Robotic hair transplantation is a hair restoration method using cutting-edge robotic systems. This method aims to achieve more precise, faster and more accurate results compared to traditional hair transplantation techniques. Robotic hair transplantation is based on the principle of first collecting healthy hair follicles in areas where hair loss is intense and then transplanting them to hairless areas. This process is performed by specially designed robotic devices.

How is Robotic Hair Transplantation Applied?

Robotic hair transplantation is a cutting-edge treatment method developed against the problem of hair loss. This method was developed based on the FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) hair transplantation technique. Robotic hair surgery is based on the principle of extracting healthy hair follicles in the donor area by robots and then placing these follicles in manually opened channels.

The 3D Robotic Hair Transplantation system, which directs and monitors this process, includes a specialized drilling mechanism, computer-controlled mechanical arms and imaging features. The process stages are as follows:

Photography and Analysis: In the first stage, the area where hair loss is experienced is scanned with 3D imaging technology. These images are transferred to the computer environment and analyzed. In this way, the areas of hair loss and the donor area are examined in detail.
Donor Area Determination: The suitability of the donor area is evaluated with 3D images. The density of the donor area, hair roots and hair exit angles are analyzed and the most suitable areas for hair root collection are determined. The robotic system also calculates the number required for root collection.
Robot Positioning: The robotic system is positioned using data for the donor area and transplantation area. It is directed to the designated areas to collect the hair roots. The robot pays attention to the angles and exit directions of the roots while collecting the hair roots.
Collection of Hair Roots: The robotic system selects and collects the healthiest hair roots with the help of optical readers. At this stage, an error-free collection process is carried out by taking into account the angles and exit directions of the hair roots under the skin. The collected hair roots are preserved in special solutions.
Opening of Channels: The hairless areas in the area where the transplantation will be performed are anesthetized and sterilized under local anesthesia. The robotic system opens the channels required for hair transplantation with the determined microchannel opening method. The angles and exit directions of these channels are carefully adjusted.

Transplantation of Hair Follicles: The collected healthy hair follicles are transplanted one by one and carefully by the doctor into the opened channels. The transplantation of the hair follicles is carried out in accordance with the natural exit angles and directions. This stage is performed in a synchronized manner with the manual dexterity and mastery of technology of the plastic surgery specialist.
The robotic hair transplantation procedure can take approximately 6-7 hours. The person can immediately return to their daily lives after the procedure. Robotic hair transplantation, as a technological advancement in the field of hair restoration, has the potential to offer permanent and natural results to people who want to treat their hair loss.
